New Kenra Smooth in-salon service is so safe that you can follow immediately with a wash and color.
With so many clients asking for a frizz-free summer, this year you can have a new weapon in your anti-frizz arsenal: the just-launched Kenra Smooth system, an in-salon service supported by four home maintenance products.
Free of direct formaldehydes and compliant with all regulations in both the U.S. and Canada, Kenra Smooth eliminates up to 99 percent of curl and frizz with the first use while protecting hair from damage, according to the company.
Results last up to 60 shampoos and, unlike other smoothing systems, the super-safe Kenra Smooth formula permits washing and coloring the same day—as soon as immediately following the service. There's also a formula for hair that has never been chemically treated.
Each system comprises: Deep Cleansing Shampoo; Foaming Fluid; Calming Crème; and Hydration Treatment. An innovative, patent pending applicator tool replaces the traditional bowl and brush, making application of the Foaming Fluid quick and easy. The drip-free applicator gives stylists control in delivering even, consistent saturation, and it eliminates waste.
"Stylists have been confused about what is safe and what is not," says Jen Norman, Kenra vice president of strategic marketing. "Some smoothing systems are considered safe but do not perform well. Ours is compliant with all of the regulatory agencies, and it performs!"
Adding that the service takes between 90 and 150 minutes depending on hair length and texture, Norman reports that stylists are especially enthusiastic about the foaming applicator.
Anthony Lineberry, owner of Master Stylists at Snips Salon & Spa in Indianapolis, agrees. "We've done brushes and bowls with other systems, and they've been very messy and time-consuming," Lineberry says. "This tool makes it so much easier, and the application is much smoother."
Currently, the Kenra Smooth system is available only through CosmoProf® sales representatives, and it will be in CosmoProf stores in August.
